USB-C cable length

Is there a limit to the USB-C cable length that attaches the core module to the computer?  I understand that it is preferred to connect the Monogram Controller system directly to the USB port on. the computer, in this case a MacMini.

  I've extended the original cable by 1-2 metres and ran through a USB hub without problems.
