[BUG] In new version Press and Hold does not work
CompletedI used to have panning in Ps on a button hold (Space key set up), but it doesn't work any more.
I really hope this will get fixed ASAP, because it completely ruins the workflow
Windows 10
Ps 23.0.2
MC FW 5.0.1
Core FW 2.018 (same was on 2.0.15)

Hey Mantas, thanks for the report. This is really strange as we haven't made any changes to that function—it's a very simple implementation where the button emulates a spacebar key at a hardware level. I'd like to find out what's going on.
Can I bother you to try something, and to send one piece of info?
Try this:
- Clear the button
- Re-assign it to Tool > Hand Tool (Hold)
- Check if it works
Send this:
Save your current profile and send it to us via email OR copy and paste the button assignment from Manual Entry, if you use that view in the button settings window.
I'll let you know what comes of it.

Hand tool seems to work fine and now it seems after clearing the button I can't reassign Space on hold because I get this message
But I reassigned Space just on Press and it also works while holding. Very confusing. Could it be that it was saved in older version and new version does not support anymore? Do you want me send anything still?

Okay, this is what I was thinking might be the case.
The Hand Tool assignment simply emulates the space bar. When you press the key down, the Core firmware sends a "key down" message for the spacebar's HID keycode. When you release, same thing with a "key up" message.
If you were to assign a secondary press-and-hold assignment to the key in Creator, it would conflict with the primary assignment; that's why the option is disabled as per your screenshot above.
In short: this is a case where the primary assignment requires both the press and press-and-hold actions in order to function, therefore it won't let you assign a secondary assignment.

Again, press and hold is incompatible with keyboard mode. All you need to do is to assign press to the spacebar and it will accommodate both a quick press AND a long press because those behaviours are all interpreted on the OS side from the simple key up and key down messages.
The press and hold action is being greyed out so that you can't assign a second keyboard shortcut to it. If this was possible, it wouldn't work well—we tried it :)
Try it yourself: assign the spacebar to press and then hold it down in Photoshop while panning. Release it and press it quickly. You'll see it works as expected in both scenarios—quick press and long press.
