Hey Connor! I want to understand your question a bit better: are you hoping to send multiple CCs at the same time with the same fader movement, or to switch assignments between multiple CCs on one fader, with only one CC being active at once?

Send multiple CCs at once with one fader movement.  Similar to how MIDI learn functionality works in a program like Live but without having to do that within the environment.

Gotcha. No, that's not assignable; only one MIDI CC number is generated per action (ie slide, turn, press, etc.)

Like you mentioned Live's Macro Knobs allow you to link a single MIDI CC to multiple parameters, as do similar features in Logic Pro (Controller Assignments, Smart Controls) and Kontakt (Midi CC Automation and Host Automation).

If you want to accomplish this with Monogram outside your VI or DAW, the best option is to look at a MIDI utility—Midipipe comes to mind—that can transform MIDI messages.

Copy, ya I just thought it would be handy to have a profile that handles expression, vibrato, and modulation all in one that I could load up quickly without having to muck around inside a DAW.  Is this something that could potentially be a feature request or is it not possible based on the way MIDI and Monogram interface?

I feel like I may still be missing something here. Sorry if I'm being dense.

Is the spirit of your request that you'd like 1 slider to send CCs 1, 11, and 21 simultaneously? For example: if you slide the single slider to its min point, CCs 1, 11, and 21 are all going to register a value of 0. Same for the max point, all CCs will register a value of 127.

I'm unsure if this is even possible or feasible from a technical POV. I'm also a bit skeptical of how useful it would be, but happy to be proven wrong here :)

Now, more broadly, it's definitely possible to set up a profile that has CCs 1, 11, and 21 on 3 discrete sliders, and that wouldn't require any further DAW mapping. Assuming you have a Monogram console and have 3 sliders at hand, does that not provide you more flexibility since the 3 parameters can be adjusted independently?

No not at all, you understand correctly.  It's true that having the 3 separate sliders provides more flexibility but it's a little cumbersome to move all three at once and the ability to combine would open up additional sliders for other purposes.  What I find great about the Ableton functionality is that it allows you to dig under the hood and set ranges (wish it also did curves).  In my experience different sampled instruments react differently to CCs so I could imagine setting up ideal profiles for my most used instruments that would give me very specific and nuanced control and also allow opportunities for playing around with how wacky it could get.  If you've ever had two people play a synthesizer at once, you know what I mean.  I guess it's just a pipe dream but I think it could be neat.

Understood! Okay, thanks for sharing all that detail; I get what you have in mind.

I think immediately at least a MIDI routing app like MIDI Pipe or the built in Ableton/Logic/Kontakt utilities that do this are your best bet. The latter especially because you can set custom ranges for each parameter.

Let me raise this within the team for consideration and see if the implementation on our side would be possible and work well.

Sorry for the delayed reply but I just wanted to say that it's really amazing that you replied so quickly to my inquiry and I appreciate your attention to detail in grasping what I'm after.  I'm really pleased with the monogram overall and especially pleased with the responsiveness and openness to new possibilities or ideas.  Thanks again!
