Updated Palette Core with USB-C input
CompletedAre there any plans to update the palette core with a USB-C input to replace the current micro-USB? Could be made available separately and include a USB-C to USB-C cable so that users could replace their cores and take advantage of the new and improved connectors. Maybe a trade-in / recycling program for old cores?
Alternatively, perhaps give people the option of purchasing a palette gear with a micro to USB-C cable in the box instead of the current micro to USB-A? I'm sure many palette users are Mac owners based on the design of your product, and increasingly many will be forced to separately purchase the appropriate cable or adapter to use their new palette gear.
Asking because I may be updating my MacBook Pro soon and would then be forced to buy a new cable. Plus, micro usb is so fiddly and it always looks like I haven't inserted the cable far in enough into the core.

Hi Connor, I feel your pain as a one of those aforementioned new Mac owners. New Palette hardware will absolutely follow new industry standards—afraid that's as specific as we can get. ;)
FWIW, I've seen some really solid USB-C to Micro-USB cables available for less than the Apple dongles—hopefully this helps you out in the meantime.

Has anything new developed on this? I am a potential customer that would like to see something like this. In addition with the increased power and bandwidth to the controller, will it support more than 18 daughter devices? I would also like to recommend an update on multiple controllers operating at the same time. I saw the post but the last thing on it was a while ago with no response from support. These are a few of my questions and am hesitant to see if this is an item/concept that sticks around. I like it but the initial price makes me question if the company (which seems newer) will be around for a while. - Thanks for the innovation though!

Hi Isaac, yes! There is a new core (and 4 other new modules) being readied for manufacturing right now, as part of the launch for our second-gen product: Monogram Creative Console. You can follow our progress via the Kickstarter page here.
As you can imagine, all development resources are going towards making the new hardware work seamlessly between now and mass production. Following mass production and shipping, we'll have the engineering bandwidth to devote to improvements like (for example) multiple core module support.
In terms of longevity, I understand your concern—noone wants to buy into tech that loses support—however, we've been in operation since 2013 and just completed a successful crowdfunding campaign for our second generation. In short: we expect to stick around. :)
