Hi Micha, thanks for your kind words! We have full intention of implementing cross-platform support once a controller API is added to the Windows version of Capture One.

The macOS release of C1 has developer tools that the Windows release doesn't, which is why support is only on one platform for now. Simply put, Palette can't "talk to" C1 on Windows—for now at least—but it can on macOS.

Moving forward, Phase One seems very open to feedback on what kind of plugins their users want to see; they've put up a feature request page here, which I'd encourage you to use and ask for control surface support.

With all this in mind, we're hopeful that a future release of C1 will have a controller API on both versions—Windows AND macOS.

PS: One thing to add—there are a ton of controls in C1 that have the option for a keyboard shortcut, but aren't assigned one by default.

In the meantime, if there's a tool you want to control with a Palette button or dial but it doesn't appear to be supported, you'll likely be able to map it using this workaround:

    1. Follow this guide from Phase One to add a shortcut to any desired tools/functions—for example, you could assign Shift+Ctrl+H and Shift+Alt+Ctrl+H to Other > Color Balance > Highlight Hue (+1) and Highlight Hue (-1), respectively.

    2. Go back to PaletteApp and select your desired button or dial from inside the Capture One profile. You should see a module settings window come up.

    3. Select "Keyboard Mode" from the left-hand side, then map the shortcut you assigned in step 1. Using the previous example, you would assign Shift+Ctrl+H to the right turn, and Shift+Alt+Ctrl+H to the left turn—this would allow you to use the Color Balance wheels with your dials.

Unfortunately no progress to share yet, but Phase One is still accepting requests for new plugins and for further development of their SDK. Here's the page to make that request: https://go.phaseone.com/Capture-One-Plugins-Interest.html

Ronald thanks for making the request! Really helps our case to have advocacy from Capture One and Palette owners.

As you can imagine, we can't share Capture One's development plans until they announce publicly, but there haven't been any changes to the Windows release APIs in Capture One 20 yet.

In the meantime, if you want help enabling a specific feature for Palette + Capture One, we're happy to help however possible. There are a lot of options that can be enabled for the buttons and dials via custom shortcuts.
