As far as I can tell, in MIDI mode it is possible to assign only a MIDI note to a button. It would be very useful to be able to assign a MIDI CC as an alternative: Send one value when the button is pressed and another when it is released. 127 and 0 would be reasonable defaults, but making them settable might also be useful.

The reason for this request is to avoid having to use the identity of the MIDI channel to distinguish a button press from, say, notes played on a piano keyboard connected to the same computer.

  Totally agreed! this is a must have... and not sure why they never did it!

  Seems like a basic should have.

  Agree. Qlab takes midi signals which get recieved what ever window is active, so very useful if my GO button in Palette would send that go signal as a midi.

  This makes all the sense in the world.

   

  Rarely, if ever, would I want to trigger a note with my Palette but CC is exactly what I need!

  Following up on this: this is supported on both the Palette arcade buttons and Monogram essential keys when either are connected to the new Monogram core.

  Both momentary and toggle/latching CC are supported. Here's the assignment UI:
