[Feature] Adjust Audio Clip Levels WITHOUT adding keyframes, AND without having to click on a Clip in Timeline, Premiere Pro CC
CompletedPerhaps there's a setting I'm missing somewhere within Premiere, but I love using the Palette sliders as faders for quick tactile audio editing --- my only issue at the moment is that I can't play through the sequence, and quickly adjust a clip's volume as it's playing without adding a bunch of keyframes. I'd like to be able to fine tune the entire clip volume as it plays out. I'd also love to be able to assign the slider modules to change a clip's volume based off of what track it's on WITHOUT having to click on the clip beforehand. Right now having to click on a clip just to use the slider module to adjust the volume seems like more of a workflow interruption than enhancement, especially since if I'm clicking on the clip already, I might as well click and drag on the volume line on the clip in the timeline to adjust the audio levels. If I missed a settings somewhere that already allows me to do this please let me know!

Circling back to this. Two definitive answers to provide:
1. Enabling Sequence > Selection Follows Playhead will automatically select the clip under the playhead, preventing the need to make a mouse selection. You can also assign a Palette button to toggle Selection Follows Playhead on/off if required.
2. Volume adjustments can be made globally across the clip (ie without writing keyframes) as long as keyframing is disabled (the stopwatch icon is grey) in Premiere Pro—Palette will not override that behaviour.

Hi Mark, I'll look into the default keyframing behaviour; there may be a solution there. RE: selecting clips, I wanted to reply right away and let you know that enabling Sequence > Selection Follows Playhead in the Premiere menu will automatically select an audio clip under the playhead, no mouse involvement required. Let me know if this works as you'd hope.
