Why doesn't Palette work with USB Hubs?

Hi Satinder, I haven't forgotten about this—I'll need to speak with our firmware developer next week in order to get you an informed, complete answer as a lot of it is out of my depth personally.

I completely understand the frustration in not being able to use Palette with a hub. Unfortunately, this isn't exclusive to Palette and seems to be common among more demanding peripherals such as bus-powered hard drives, audio interfaces, etc. Maybe our FW dev can shed some light on this as a whole.

One note is that we've found the Apple USB-C adapters with HDMI, VGA, etc., work really well and don't suffer the same issues. If your machine has USB-C, you're completely safe to use one of these. We'll continue updating this article as we identify other peripherals that work or don't, and if any changes are made on our end.

    Thanks for the reply Andy.
Unfortunately I use the Mac Pro(trash can) and it only has 4 USB type A ports so I can’t try the type C connector.

I look forward to hearing from your developers. Thanks

Hi - I would imagine that for each control you have connected, it's added power load - an unpowered hub likely wouldn't have enough power for the Palette especially if there are other things plugged into it.

I use the Palette with the following powered USB hub without any problems. I have 4 Arcade Buttons, one slider and two knobs. There are also 2 other devices that require power plugged into the hub.
