Mac version should be dockless
CompletedPalette behaves differently than other similar hardware applications.
Generally what happens is there is a menu bar item that always runs so you know the system is functional. You can do things like see what profile is active, quit the system (which disables the hardware), or open up the configuration / preferences screens.
The config is handled in one of two ways. Either a floating window appears owned by that menu bar item, not a full dock application. Or a separate configuration app is launched, which would have a dock icon.
But the important part is, as long as you are not actively configuring the buttons you don't have to deal with an icon in your dock / an icon in your application switcher / etc.
