How to use Monogram Creative Console as a
MIDI Device
Step #1: Select your DAW or Create a Universal Profile
Step #2: Assign your Modules in Creator
Step #3: Mapping Creative Console to your DAW
To make your console a MIDI device, switch to MIDI Mode in your desired profile. Each module in a your set up can be individually assigned to a channel. MIDI keys can be notes, dials/orbiters can be notes (when pressed) and/or continuous controllers (when turned), and sliders can be continuous controllers.
Step #1: Select your DAW or Create a Universal Profile
If you do not see your desired DAW, please select the "update open apps icon" at the top right of Creator. If you would like to set up MIDI assignments to be applied across multiple DAWs or applications, you may want to select a universal profile.
Step #2: Assign your Modules in Creator
Selecting a MIDI channel
Each module can be individually assigned to a MIDI channel directly in the module assignments window.
In the assignments window, please navigate to the left side of the window > select customize > on the right side, select 'MIDI Mode' > assign the MIDI channel (1-16).
MIDI Functions and Specifications
- All MIDI functions can be customised to output on MIDI Channel 1 through 16
- Monogram is a MIDI 1.0 device (Note: MIDI 2.0 devices should be backwards compatible with MIDI 1.0)
- OSC is not yet supported

Combining MIDI with Other Modes
When creating a MIDI Profile, you are not limited solely to MIDI assignments. MIDI controls can be used alongside Keyboard Shortcuts and Media/OS controls (example: mouse scroll, system volume) in the same profile.

If Creative Console is frozen on macOS
When you assign MIDI Functions to your Console, it will start sending MIDI signals. On macOS, if there are no MIDI-compatible applications open to receive MIDI signals, Creative Console may appear frozen.
Please check that your DAW is open and the problem should resolve automatically.
