Lightroom Classic, CC, & 6
Lightroom Classic
Adobe has rebranded their desktop Lightroom application (previously Lightroom CC & 6) to Lightroom Classic.
Following Adobe's LR rebranding, you may be confused about the differences between Lightroom Classic CC, the new Lightroom CC, and the older versions of Lightroom you may have previously used Palette with.
Here are a few key points:
- Lightroom Classic is the functional successor to Lightroom CC 2014-2015 and Lightroom 6.
- Palette's existing compatibility with Lightroom CC 2014-2015 & 6 has been extended to the new Lightroom Classic.
- We will continue to support users with Lightroom 6 and Lightroom CC 2014-2015; you are not required to update.
Lightroom CC 2018+
The new Lightroom CC—without the Classic designation—is an all-new, cloud-centric version of Lightroom released at MAX 2017.
Palette is not currently integrated with the cloud storage-based Lightroom CC 2018. We recommend updating to Lightroom Classic instead to take advantage of the most current Lightroom experience with Palette.
Lightroom Classic Localization
Fixed as of December 2017. Please update Lightroom Classic to version 7.1 or later if you're affected.
Certain Develop module functions will not work when using Palette with Lightroom Classic CC 7.0 and 7.0.1 in the following languages:
- Chinese (Simplified)
- Chinese (Traditional)
- Dutch
- French
- Italian
- Japanese
- Korean
- Portuguese
- Spanish

I use Palette Gear with Adobe Lightroom Classic CC in Italian leanguage and I have problem whit command of basic - exposition or basic - contrast when do you think to resolve this problem?
I am Italian user I cant use Adobe Lightroom Classic CC in English, German, or Swedish for me is impossible...
I am using Palette with Lightroom Classic CC in DUTCH. I installed the upgrade from Lightroom a few weeks ago and afterwards I saw that Palette software did not follow... I understand English but I simply don't want to switch to the English version of Lightroom. How long will it take to make the use of the (expensive!) Palette possible again? This is a big inconvenience!
Hi Alessio and Ronald,
This is now fixed as of the 7.1 update—please try updating to the latest version of Lightroom Classic CC and your basic panel ought to be working perfectly.
Please email me at support@palettegear.com if you have any questions.

Hi Fabio, you're fine to use the Lightroom Classic profile type.
Our plugin remains compatible with LR 6, LR CC 2015, as well as Lightroom Classic.
